Hazel Creek Fall Newsletter 2010
Welcome to Hazel Creek. This fall is going to be a wonderful journey in your child’s life. The children become so excited to go to school with their friends and the parents welcome the routine. The teachers at HCM are anxiously awaiting their classes and are anticipating a wonderful start. The following information will help you to know what to anticipate. Thank you so much for choosing HCM as the school of your choice, we feel honored to be a part of everyone’s life in such a special and meaningful way.
Staffing:
Toddler class: Jennifer and Melissa will continue to be the teachers in the toddler room. They are superb and can answer any questions you might have about their class.
Pre-school 3-4yr: Ana is going to be one of the lead teachers in this class, along with Ashley and Kat. Ana was the lead teacher 3 years ago in the toddler room at HCM and then taught at Martha and Mary’s as the lead 5yr. old teacher. She had a baby and is returning now with her son Alen who is 3 years old. We welcome them both back. Ana will be teaching Spanish with the curriculum. Kat is a certified lifeguard and will be teaching the swimming program. Kat has been teaching at HCM this summer and has a one year old son in the toddler room. She is dynamite. She will teach with Ana in the classroom. Ashley’s last month will be September as she has decided to move away from the childcare profession for a break and will either move to eastern Washington or find work in another field around this area. (I say she’ll be back before you know it!!!) She has been the most wonderful employee on the planet and we will cry our eyes out when she goes. We wish her the very best and hopefully she can’t possibly find anything better than HCM. Tee hee!
Pre-school 4-5yr: Colin, Emilia and Chris will be the teachers in the upstairs classroom. They are such a strong team and will be sure to have another stupendous year this year. (Emilia is going to Italy for several weeks in Sept. and Oct. to visit her family.)
Pre-school 5-6yr: Sharon and Jamy and Chris will be the teachers in the downstairs classroom. They love what they do and it shows!! After 20 years, they just get better every year. (Sharon will be gone for a few weeks in September for an annual hunting trip with her husband.)
After School Staff : Maegan, Caty, Becca and Drew will all be here this fall. Julian left to attend Montana School of Mines. We wish him luck and will miss him dearly.
The curriculum for the month of September will be a “Back to School” theme for all of the classrooms. We will start with horse lessons September 14th and we will begin swimming the first week of school.
Dates to remember:
September 16th: Thursday, we will have our annual Open House for all of our new and current parents. This is for adults only @ 7pm @ HCM.
September 21st: Tuesday, we will have our annual Harvest Fair. Children are welcome to make a “Harvest Creature” and bring to school for display. We will harvest from the school garden that day and have a feast.
September 23rd: School Pictures will be taken by Karin Lahotski. If your child does not attend that day, we would like them to come for the morning session so that they can be in the class picture and have their picture taken. There is no obligation to buy them.
Tuition Fees: Our new tuition fee schedule is available on line and in the lobby. Please pay your tuition by the first of the month and be sure to mark down your payment each time in the payment book in the lobby.
As I write this, my daughter Alison is having labor pains and will probably give birth in the next 24 hours. We are ecstatic and can’t wait to see our new grandchild. It brings us that much closer to our purpose in life at HCM, nurturing these small children and exposing them to a world of love and wonder.
All our love,
Janice and Staff
